The "Par-Nic"

One of the biggest players at Eastern VA ENT is leaving this week after about 15 years of being there. She is our nursing supervisor, the go-to gal for any and everything at the office, and pretty much the glue that holds the place together. To say we are concerned with how things will go without her is a massive understatement. After many years away from home, Johnette and Wes Smith have chosen to move back to southwestern VA to be closer to her family. While it is a huge loss for us, it is a wonderful new adventure for her and her family. This weekend we threw a "Par-Nic" or a party picnic for them to send them off in style. We had a blast. I am sure there will be more than a few tears shed again on Wednesday when it's her last day. But no matter where we go in life, our true friends are always with us. And we will surely keep in touch. We keep threatening The Smith's that the ENT crew is going to pile in my Pilot and road trip out to there new place. They laughed it off...don't be surprised when we show up at your doorstep. And I will come through on my promise, if we come out there I promise to make you breakfast!!! Best of luck Johnette and Wes.
On another note, Brandon finally found out that he has been granted some leave time. Now begins the project of trying to find a flight to and from Bahrain for him. I had one all set and then there was some glitches with the site and layover/transfers etc so we are back to square one. He is going to try and work it out on his end. It's hard to book a flight for someone when you don't know all the details of when that person can be off work and all that. Hopefully we can get it all worked out. And we also hope this baby stays put for a little longer. No pressure right???
