First of all....an update on Emily and her family. Emily was able to come home from the hospital today and is working on recovering. She is resting at home with her family and Mom went to see her today. Thank you for everyone who has kept their family in your thoughts and prayers.
Today was a surprise baby shower for Patty at work who is due on July 5th. She has a safari theme to her bedding for the baby so she had lots of monkey stuff and other animal things. It was a nice time with lots of good food, friends and a yummy brownie cake. And of course there had to be a shot taken of the 3 pregnant chics from the office. Patty and I are having a fight to the finish as she is due just 13 days before me. We will see who makes it to the finish line first. Will it be her baby "Dot" or our baby "Guito"??? Rest assured we are not naming the child Guito, it's just the name instead of calling it "It". Hope you had fun to day Patty, we enjoyed celebrating the upcoming arrival of Willow Catherine.
After the shower it was a quick run to Babies R Us to take advantage of their 20% off baby gear sale. And I was lucky enough to find out convertible car seat in stock. One more thing off the list. Once I got home I worked on putting together some more of the baby stuff. Baby gear assembly was way more fun with company. Reese just wants to try and sit on my lap while I am putting things together. It doesn't work so well. Tonight she opted to "help" by shredding all the cardboard from the swing box.
And then when all else fails, run down the hall and get a baby of your own. It was too funny though because she tried to put her baby in the swing. She is a crazy puppy. Although after this swing assembly process I am afraid I might not be smart enough to be a parent!!!! I am not going to tell you how many times I had to double check to make sure I was getting everything put together just right. Hope I get better at this!
She is less than thrilled with this new swing thing. It moves, it plays music, it makes bird chirping noises. Yup, she is not loving the changes of life that are happening on Hawthorne Drive these days.
I took this the other morning of Reese. Some mornings she stays in the bedroom while I get ready to for work. Other times she comes out to the living room. But I have yet to figure out how this position is comfortable for her??? She is a nut! But she has been so good and has been trying really hard to be good on her leash while in the backyard, even with the bad dogs who live behind us and drive her nutty.
