My stove when on the fritz a couple weeks back and it took a while to get in touch with the property manager to have it looked at. On Monday this week the repairman came and determined to replace the heating element and the thermostat it would be about $300. They talked with the owner of the house and he agreed to let them get a new stove. So here is my lovely new stove!!! It's not fancy, but the burners heat up super fast, and the over actually cooks at the temperature you set it for. Doesn't take much to make me happy!!! I was like a little kid with a new prize. So excited to get a new stove. I tested it out tonight when I made a cake and cookies to bring to Brandon's sister's house tomorrow. They look good. Hope they taste the same.

It's been another busy week at work. I had the nicest surprise today from a long time patient. She is so much fun. She lives a couple hours away from us, which is not uncommon since there is a not an ENT on the Outer Banks that does the surgeries that we do. I have booked her for several procedures in my time there. Without fail Miss Sheila always pops in the office to say hello and find out what the latest news is. She is there so much we teased her that when we moved offices we were going to name an exam room after her. Today she asked the desk if I was there, and they said they would call me. She promptly told them there was no need since she would just go see me, she knew where to find me. Off she went through door to the back part of the office and showed up in my office with a beautiful baby gift. It was so a great surprise. She gave us a couple of bottles and a bunch of baby outfits and bibs. Thank you so much Miss Sheila!!! She did threaten me that she better get a phone call after the baby arrives to let her know all the details and to find out if it's a boy or a girl. We come across all kinds of patients every day. But some of them are just so special.
Reese had to give the basket the once over. Max the black lab helped to pack up the prizes for Baby Smith.
