So it will be 2 weeks tomorrow since we found out that Brandon was a Chief Selectee. I guess I better get the terms correct. You see he isn't officially Chief until 9/16 when he gets pinned. I have been corrected and schooled on this process a couple times. So until then he is GMC (Select) Smith. Like the US Navy doesn't have enough acronyms to confuse me, now this?? There is a reason I am not in the Navy!!! He is doing well though. Exhausted but well. We are seeing very little of each other, and when Brandon is home he is busy doing other "Chief" stuff. It will all be worth it in the end. Even the $1400 worth of new uniforms (that I did not flip out about!!!).
As for my high maintenance doc club....I have come to the conclusion that having MD after your name gives you the rights and privileges to be a complete jerk to people whenever you choose. And if you are ever questioned on said behavior you have the right to turn it all around and blame the person doing the questioning. Basically you get to behave badly and no one is allowed to say anything about it. Yup...as you can tell I got in a bit of trouble with a doc lately. I seem to have put my foot in my mouth up to my hip by questioning him on whether or not there was enough time to add on a particular case. So from now on it's smile and nod, and as I was advised do not show any "Public Displays of Frustration of PDF's". Now the irony of all this is the one who advised me to behave in such a manner has rolled more eyes, expressed more sighs, and done more shoulder shrugs in the past week than the entire office. So my new goal is to behave more robot like and not show any emotion. But rest assured my job is secure as they have not had a better scheduler. I am beginning to think that is because no one else was crazy enough to stick around!!!! This too shall pass in time I am sure. And I guess being less of an open book about what I am feelin will probably be a good thing too.
Aside from Brandon's work and my work, things are just duckie around here!! Reese is having a hard time adjusting to Brandon's crazy work schedule. She misses her buddy to play with. And she has gotten herself into some trouble because of it. She and I are holding down the fort and trying to make sure all the house stuff is squared away so all he has to work on is Chief stuff and regular job. It's a crazy life for sure!!! We are looking forward to the pinning ceremony and a short visit from Mom and Jason to see it. Here's hoping life in your neck of the woods is a tad less crazy!!! Tomorrow's Wednesday and we are halfway through the week!!! Woohoo!!!
