On Wednesday, Brandon received the news he has been waiting 7 years for. He was chosen as a Gunner's Mate Chief Selectee. This has been a long time coming and we couldn't be happier. He not only was chosen, he was number one out of the forty that were selected. With this news comes about four weeks of training, school, extra workouts and stress!!! Reese and I are holding down the fort trying to make Brandon's home life as comfortable as possible to get him through his training. I have seen him all of about 5 hours since Wednesday but it's for a good cause so we will tough it out. Below is a link I found about the process of becoming a Chief. I had questions about the whole process, and thought this was helpful. It will be a crazy few weeks but on 9/16/10 at the pinning ceremony Brandon will officially be a GMC. Woohoo!!!

We wouldn't be where we are without the help of all you. You guys are the best and we appreciate each and every one of you. For the local crew....The Beaver Family thanks for keeping an eye on Brandon and helping him through Induction and for checking up on me. And Doc, thanks for keeping me sane with all this fun Navy stuff!!!
