Week or so in review - Birthdays, Mother's Day, and an almost behaving puppy

It has been a pretty busy week or so around here. As most of you know May is a busy birthday month around here. Jason's is on May 7th, Brandon's is May 9th, mine is the 13th, and Mother's Day always falls in the midst of it all. And now we add in Baby Jillian who made her appearance on May 8th to the collection of May birthdays. Congratulations Susan, Jon and Madelyn on your new addition. Anyway, Brandon's mom came down to visit last weekend and take us out to dinner for our birthdays. We had a really nice dinner at Smoky Bones, and Reese won over Mimi.

After dinner we came home and had some yummy chocolate cake and ice cream. Yum Yum!! She was such a good puppy aside from deciding to cry at 5 in the morning on Sunday. She came into our room and she loved sleeping in there. She did really well with being in with us and got to stay there until last night when she peed on the rug. Like I said...an almost behaving puppy!!! On Sunday morning I got up and made a big breakfast for Brandon's mom for Mother's Day. It was so yummy and definitely fell on the diet plan I am sure. We spent the rest of Sunday running errands and taking Reese for a long walk. Of course our errands included the pet store where she cleaned up as usual.

And if this dog is not spoiled I don't know what is!!! She loves to look out the window in the living room but she gets frustrated because if she lays down she can not see anymore. We went to a discount furniture store and as you can see, Miss Reese now has her own ottoman to lounge on while bird/people watching. It was a good deal, and we just covered the top with some upholstery fabric to protect it. I know...she is ridiculously spoiled. But she has come a long way in six weeks and we are very happy we have her. It has been a busy work week for both of us, but we did decide to head over to Bed Bath and Beyond the other night to look at pans. We had a mismatch collection of pans and Brandon asked if I wanted a nice set. I can't tell you how long it took us to pick out a set. We did though, and I got the big set of the Calphalon pans. I am SOOOOO excited about them. I tried them out tonight and I love them. They were a lot and I am quite sure we will not be buying pans for a long time. Yesterday at work I was met with all sorts of fun stuff including the "Happy Birthday" sign that hung outside my office all day. The girls at work gave me a bunch of nice things, and we had a nice lunch together as well. Lots of fun!! Thanks girls!! I thought that was it for the birthday prizes until I came home last night to find the table all set with a vase of roses and some more prizes. Now I was more than happy with my pans but Brandon went all out and got a bunch more stuff.

We headed out to Mi Casita for a delicious mexican dinner too. As you can see it's been a busy few days around here and we are ready for the weekend. Ready for some down time to catch up on all the house stuff and relax. Happy Friday...almost!!!
