Before I left to come home for a few days, Brandon hung our quilt. It is in our living room so we see it every day, and can share it with anyone who comes to see us. It is folded, and we will change the fold periodically so all squares will be able to be seen at one point or another. Thank you to everyone who took the time to make a special memory on our quilt.

Since I was planning on going to visit my old job, I thought it would be nice to bring them some goodies. Mom and I figured out some things to make, make the grocery run, and spent the afternoon baking. We made summer themed iced sugar cookies, peanut butter chocolate bars, raspberry bars, and cinnamon meltaways. In reality, she did most of the baking while I grabbed her laptop to show her some new pictures and we chatted. We had a great time. I had some extra chocolate left from the peanut butter bars and decided I would pipe out some chocolate shapes. I have watched far to much Food Network lately. Well, I was pretty happy with my chocolate letters that spelled out mom's nickname! She feels I have far too much time on my hands!!!! Some of our sugar cookies are decorated a little tacky. It got to be late when we were finishing up. However, work had no problem gobbling them right up.
Why does it take us so long to get used to one of our pets no longer being with us? I have known that Jackson has not been here since before we left, yet, when I walked up the front walk yesterday there was a little part of me that expected to have him bouncing off the floor when I walked in. I still think am going to see him bouncy around the corner, or racing to beat me to the front door. While it was his time to leave us since he was really not well at the end, it is truly amazing how much I miss that crazy puppy!! It's just not the same frosting cookies without that big wet nose trying to squeeze in and snag a lick of the frosting. So I found it only fitting to put up a picture of my Jack-Jack. We figure that he is now back with Oreo, harassing him as he always did, and trying to lay on top of him again. And Oreo, well, he might not be so thrilled with that whole plan!!! Glad we were lucky enough to have Jack and Oreo as long as we did.

RIP Jack and Oreo. My most favorite doggie babies to watch
PS. I spy a Haley Dragon, but no basket. :)
I wish I was half as creative as you two! those cookies look yummy! I still have to get that mint brownie one from you! I remember coming over your house in Burlington and sitting on the floor with Oreo--what good dogs...
