Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day. We had a pretty low key night here. Brandon had sent me some flowers on Friday and they had just started to open up with the 70 degree weather today. He was home for the afternoon and opened up the windows to air out the house. Not even thinking the wind was strong enough to knock over the vase of flowers. I walked in from work to find him trying his best to put all the blooms back into the vase....major bummer. We opted not to do Valentine's Days gifts and our gift to each other is a long weekend at Lydia Mountain before he deploys. We can't wait to go back there and the fact that we can bring Reese is a plus.
We did celebrate an early holiday dinner with some wonderful friends. We had dinner with the Beaver's Saturday night. It was a late birthday celebration for Alisha and Cole, and we didn't even think about it being Valentine's weekend. Off we went to the Cheescake Factory only to find there was an hour and a half wait. With a 3 and 6 year old that wasn't going to happen. Off we went across the street to PF Changs for chinese food....low and behold a two and a half hour wait. We finally got in at the California Pizza Kitchen. Poor Blake had his heart set on going to the "Cake Factory" so we stopped there for dessert to go. He was all excited about the special dinner out he insisted he had to dress up. How cute was he in his shirt and tie!! And of course his little brother had to follow Blake's lead! Thanks for a great night out Alisha and John!
This is the first time Brandon has been home on Valentine's Day in 3 years. He has always been deployed. I wanted to make him a nice dinner. I just didn't plan in out all that far in advance. We made do with steak, loaded mashed potatoes, salad, grilled asparagus and yummy sourdough bread. It wasn't my best presentation but it tasted good. Some brownie sundaes will top off the evening.

Love you Brandon!!
Happy Heart Day Everyone!!!
