Saturday we celebrated our 1/2 way party. We made it halfway and hopefully the rest of the way passes quickly. It's all down hill from here! It was a small crew but we had a nice lunch and it was nice to catch up with the Captain's family and some of the other family members. Here are a couple of pictures from the lunch.
And March 31st makes the one year anniversary of the day we got Reese from the shelter. She has added a lot of excitement to the house over the past year. She has been great company while Brandon has been gone and it definitely makes me feel better to have that great big bark around. Even if she does bark at every car door in a 5 house radius. Here are a few pictures from her past year on Hawthorne Drive with us. We love you Reese and all your quirks. We love your sloppy kisses, your desire to share your bones with us and then hide them all around the house, and we love having stuffing strewn from one end of the house to the other from your babies (okay maybe not that one so much!). I am quite sure when we move from here we will find a collection of bones that she has hidden in one place or another.
Reese's First Day Home
Room #1....welded steel is no challenge for Reese-Pie! I am happy to report that after a year, she has graduated out of her room and is now able to be left gated in the kitchen and halway. Well, at least for 2 days she has been.
Reese got to experience her first 14 hour car ride, her first snow, and her first overnight at the TravelLodge motel with us and Brandon's mom when we got snowed in for 2 days in Roanoke on the way to an early Christmas in TN. Fun times!!! We are not looking for a repeat performance of that.
Guess the 2 bowls of food are not enough she just has to go for the whole container.
One of the non-hidden bones...yet!
And when you are a good puppy, you get a new baby for being so good. And what's better than a new baby? A new baby sheep that you can toss up in the air a few times. She is a nut!
Before bed this weekend I walked to the living room to get Reese to take her out. I couldn't find her in the living room or the kitchen. I checked behind the chair, under the table...no Reese. I went back to the bedroom and this is what I found. Reese was all curled up on her bed and fast asleep. Guess she was ready for bed and I was holding up the process.
