Our Last Minute Road Trip

Last weekend we decided to head to Northen Virginia to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. We loaded up the truck complete with the pooch and hit the road. The weather was hit or miss but we made the most of it. Reese spent her first night at a hotel and did pretty well. She was spooked by the doors in the hall opening and closing but she did okay overall. She loved the mountains. She had a blast exploring and even did some of the trails on the mountain. It was touch coming back home. We wanted to stay longer. Reality set in on Monday and it was back to work.
Thank you to everyone who sent us Happy Anniversay wishes. We had a split up celebration. Brandon was on duty on the actual date so we had our weekend trip, Frosty's on his boat at work on Tuesday and then a delicious dinner Friday night at The Melting Pot. So good!!! We left so full and stayed that way for most of Saturday. It's our splurge night out once a year.
This weekend brought another weekend of work for Brandon. Reese and I are fending for ourselves. Lots of projects to get done though so it was a busy day. Managed to squeeze in a hair appt, a trip to the cake store (love that store so much! www.wineandcakehobbies.com more cake/cookie supplies than I have ever seen), grocery run, baked and decorated my Marine cake and have two batches of sugar cookie dough ready to go for some birthday cookies. It's been a busy day, and I am off to call it a night.
