Brandon and I have been dealing with a lingering cold since we came home from NH. However, that did not keep us from heading out to pick out our first Virginia Christmas Tree. We went out on Saturday and got a really nice tree. The house smells so Christmasy now. We did encounter the first pain of Christmas too. Once we got the tree home (which really isn't all that big) we discovered that the trunk was too big for our tree stand. Uh-oh! So Brandon went out on a mission to find us a new stand. Thankfully we fixed that problem pretty quickly. We let it adjust to being inside overnight then got down to the lights and ornaments. It looks very nice, although there is no tinsel on it. (Those of you who know me, know I am not the hugest fan of tinsel!!!) I just asked Brandon why he didn't tinsel the tree, and he told me that he did last year, and this year is my turn for a tinsel free tree!!! Still working on a tree topper. We don't have one and I just haven't found one I like that much yet. Brandon has our train all set up under the tree too. And since Mom and Jason will be here for Christmas I made sure to bring their stockings back with me when we were home for Thanksgiving. Santa stops at our house still, and the stockings are hung by the bookshelves with care!!!! Hey we have to improvise, no chimney. Here are a few pics for you all to check out. I may have a few more once I hang up our cards and finish making my Christmas cookies. Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

I love the tree. I also dispise tinsel !! Sorry Brandon.
Have a great holiday season.
Your tree looks great! Oh and don't be jealous of the snow - it is FREEZING here, I could go for 70degree weather right now!
Happy Holidays! :*)
it looks so pretty! I am sorry Brandon I am with Nicole--no tinsel on the tree--far too messy!
Clearly I'm in the minority. I heart tinsel! Everything looks great.
