2008 - our year of great change

Well, as the year comes to a close, it is time to look back on all the changes we have made this past year. The beginning of the year was pretty uneventful up until about May. Then it was time to pack up the apartment, leave our current jobs, say goodbye to our friends and family, and for me....venture out into perhaps the biggest move of my life. It was tough to leave New England, and I think in many ways our hearts are still back there in our little Portsmouth apartment. But life moves ahead whether we like it to or not sometimes. We are thankful for our wonderful friends and family and for being able to keep in touch with so many of you these past few months. Chesapeake has been good to us. We have a beautiful house in a nice neighborhood and it is more than a blessing that Brandon is still around and not out on a ship or over seas somewhere. And let's not forget about our wonderful neighbor across the street Ms. Conway. Where would 2008 be without paying homage to her???? She was quite the introduction to VA for me!!! We have mastered going into hiding, and checking the front yard for any signs of her before we set foot out the front door!!! Being in VA has given us the opportunity to attend several of Ashley and Kathryn's activities which has been great, and the spontaneous trips to TN have also been a lot of fun. TN in the fall is almost as pretty as New England. So as 2008 comes to an end, we are thankful for many things. We are thankful for our health, the fact that we both have jobs we are happy with, and for the chance to spend another holiday season with both sides of the family. Who knows what the next year has in store for any of us, and we appreciate all that we have more and more every day. Wishing you all health, happiness, and peace for the new year.
